Armata Hotel Spetses

Design Concept: Timeless Hospitality
The redesign of Armata Boutique Hotel is a journey through the noble history of Spetses.
The project focused on transforming a traditional island residence into a high-end boutique destination, respecting the original Spetsiot architecture while introducing a modern layer of luxury. The goal was to create a space that feels both historic and fresh, offering a sense of “home” within a premium hotel setting.
Materiality & Architectural Language
The reception area serves as the project’s visual anchor.
  • Classic Woodwork: Deep-toned, neoclassical wall paneling creates a sense of gravitas and refers to the grand captain-mansions of the island.
  • Monolithic Elements: The reception desk features a textured travertine-effect stone, providing a contemporary, solid contrast to the dark wood.
  • The Circular Motif: A standout feature is the integrated circular portal, which offers a glimpse into the back office while acting as a modern geometric counterpoint to the classic paneling.
Lighting & Ambiance
A minimalist, linear lighting fixture with spherical glass globes hovers over the reception, casting a soft, inviting glow. This choice highlights the studio’s ability to blend industrial-modern lighting with traditional interiors, creating an atmosphere of “quiet luxury”.
Key Design Highlights:
  • Heritage Integration: A seamless transition from traditional Spetsiot forms to contemporary design.
  • Custom Reception Suite: Bespoke furniture design combining stone, wood, and professional ergonomics.
  • Balanced Palette: A sophisticated mix of warm earth tones, deep woods, and soft architectural lighting
